Rooftops are also wonderful for drying the laundry. It is a source of satisfaction to use solar power for this task. Additionally it always amuses me to hang out the clothes in the view of the new Jean Nouvel tower and the Soho Grand Hotel - I don't know why but it does.Sunday, July 1, 2007

I'm on 1st Ave sort of between Gramercy and Stuyvesant. I'm jealous of your composting operations! How does your bin work? Is it just 1 big pile? Or does it have some kind of drawers?
I'm also jealous of your cosmos, cause mine just aren't blooming. The pigeons also love to eat my marigolds. Chomp chomp chomp.
Do you own your building, or does your landlord just allow you access to your roof? The roof looks really sturdy! I have to be careful of the weight I put on mine.
